Back from the Lausane Marathon

The marathon in Lausane was great and specially the wonderful landscape around the road: viniards, small villages, and of course the Leman Lake. The negative points would be I would say the couple of short hills during the race and the drinks (cups of water which is not really convenient).
I would say Lausane is a very friendly race where you don't expect a large crowd and runners but the surrounding is outstanding as well as the post race diner !

Dublin Marathon

I've run twice the Dublin Marathon so I though It could be a good opportunity to share my experience. I would say It;s not an easy race as the track is not flat all the way. Mind the few hills specially in the second half of the race. So don't start to fast! Also bring your own gels with you as they don't provide food along the track which is a shame. It's also very cold at the start so bring with you bin bags or any kind of old clothes. The ambiance is great and emotional and the Irish are very supportive as they always are.

Lausane Marathon

I'm running next week Lausanne Marathon in Switzerland. The race is a fast track along the Leman lake. I've started my traing 3.5 month ago but last week I got a cold and I couldn't run for a week. I hope I'll be able to beat my PB (3.28). I'm thinking to run with the 3.45 at the beginning and see how It goes. Hopefully the weather will be with us!

The Barcelona Marathon

I ran 2 weeks ago the marathon in Barcelona and It was a fantastic race. I recommend that race, for the weather and the city, which is very nice to visit before/after the race.

The medal

The pros:
Lovely weather!
Fantastic city to visit, historic building, tapas, good wines and everything cheap
Nice marathon tee-shirt

The cons:
There is long straight line which is quite boring and hard as you never see the end!
There is also some returns, you see some runners on your side running in the other way. It's quite discouraging.

My shoes!

Back from the Marathon in Barcelona, I needed new shoes for the start of the next marathon training. Even if I won't train within 2 weeks following the marathon, to prevent any injuries and have break.

So I bought Adidas Supernova, last year, and after 2 marathons and some hours of training I decided to get new ones. I am very happy so far with the Supernova. I am slighty pronator and I don't want to put a big budget on running shoes as I need to change them every year! £80 for a pair of running shoes is fair enough. In the package was included 7 gels. The delivery was free.
